Christian Wilkins is showing why he was a better first-round option than a quarterback.

Is there any other player on this Dolphins roster that has shown more enthusiasm than Wilkins? He is athletic, strong, a leader, and is so into the game from start to finish that he is on the field to celebrate every Dolphins touchdown.

Wilkins’ enthusiasm is infectious. So is his love of the game itself. He is having a better sophomore season than his rookie year although they are statistically similar. He is benefiting from Raekwon Davis next to him and much better play from the linebackers.

Wilkins has developed into a leader on the defensive line and the best part is he has yet to come close to his ceiling developmentally. Many believed that the Dolphins should have drafted a quarterback last year and most pointed to Dwayne Haskins. Clearly, Wilkins was the better choice in hindsight but more importantly, is the fact that Wilkins is making an impact on the field with his play and not just his personality.
