Miami Dolphins add offensive talent in latest mock draft
By Pablo Rosero
Wilson and Wilkins can give the Miami Dolphins their best interior defensive line duo since Randy Starks and Paul Soliai.
Round 1 Pick 21
FSU DT Marvin Wilson
I’ve seen mocks that have had Wilson projected later in the draft, falling as low as round 3 or 4. But, I do believe Wilson at 21 is great value, especially when you consider what he can bring to the table.
Last season, Wilson opted out of the draft and decided to return to FSU for his senior season. He was projected to be a top-15 pick in the 2020 draft, but he bet on himself and returned to get his degree.
While Florida State managed to put together another poor season, Wilson was a lone bright spot. Getting Wilson here would give the Dolphins a great rotation at the defensive tackle spot, and give the team quite possibly one of the best interior defensive line duos in all of football.
Teaming Wilson up with Christian Wilkins would give the Dolphins two stout interior defensive lineman and give opposing quarterbacks and running backs nightmares. Both players are stout against the run and have the ability to get in the pocket on pass attempts and get to the quarterback.
With Wilson’s value seemingly all over the map this season, it’ll be interesting how he does at the Senior bowl and even at the combine in Indy. I think this is a great pick with all things considered, but I do understand the want to fill more pressing needs than defensive tackle.
