The Miami Dolphins could use a potent run game to help increase their playoff odds.

4. The Miami Dolphins running back group

Week 15: Salvon Ahmed: 23 carries, 122 yards, 1 TD, 3 targets, 1 reception, 5 yards

Matt Breida: 12 carries, 86 yards

This one can be seen as a cop out, but each time I pick one running back, he is ruled out the day after. So let’s break down the entire group, but mostly Ahmed and Myles Gaskin.

Last week, Ahmed became the first Dolphins running back to rush for 100 yards for the first time in two yards. Which is very impressive, especially coming against the New England Patriots in a must win game.

With that in mind, it seems as though the Dolphins might actually be able to run the ball. If they can, it would make Tagovailoa’s job that much easier.

This week could become the first time we see the duo of Gaskin and Ahmed. The two former Washington Huskies, could form a formidable duo for the Dolphins in their playoff push.

Ahmed has proven himself as more of an in between the tackles runner for the Phins, while Gaskin has been able to prove himself in the passing game.

Getting the two back health prior to the playoffs could prove meaningful as it would add an aspect to the Dolphins that has been lacking for the entire season.

Even if Gaskin cannot play, Ahmed should be able to handle the load and once again help lead the Dolphins offense.
