Hubbard could be the future work horse for the Miami Dolphins

Round 3 Pick 82

Oklahoma State RB Chuba Hubbard

Hubbard had a down junior season when considering the fact that he had a monster sophomore season. However, the Dolphins need a running back and banking on Hubbard’s potential could pay off for the team.

Currently, it seems as though Myles Gaskin will be leading the charge at running back for the Dolphins and he had a big second season, the Dolphins need to bring in another back who can be dominant.

In his sophomore season at Oklahoma State, Hubbard led the way for the Cowboys with 328 carries, 2,094 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns. In his junior season, he had 200 less resulting in only 740 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns. It’s clear when he had the opportunities he was able to show exceptional results.

Taking Hubbard will give the Dolphins an opportunity to continue to rely on Gaskin heavily, while easing in a rookie running back to possibly become the lead workhorse for the future. Gaskin would still manage a majority of the passing work.

Taking Hubbard in the third might be a bit of a reach, but if the team is looking at his last full year instead of last season, then it makes sense for Hubbard to be one of the first backs taken in the draft this season.
