Miami drafts another top player from Alabama

Pick Analysis. DevontaSmith. player. 3. 829. Scouting Report. WR. Alabama

The 2020 Heisman trophy winner is coming off a sensational season at Alabama and is viewed as one of a handful of players that the Miami Dolphins should target with the third overall pick.

After putting together quite arguably the best season for a college football wideout ever, Smith has the talent and potential to be an immediate impact player in the NFL.

At 6-foot-1 174-pounds, Smith is not an overly physical receiver, but he is able to make up for that with his technique and speed. Every and any corner that lined up across from Smith this season looked foolish and had no answer for the star wideout from Alabama.

Not only did Smith have an incredible season that merits a top selection in the NFL draft, but his ties with current Dolphins and former Crimson Tide quarterback Tagovailoa does hold some weight.

It is said that Tagovailoa was the one who convinced Smith to attend Alabama with the 2017 class and the two connected on the game winning touchdown pass in the 2018 National Championship game over Georgia.

It is clear that Smith would have immediate chemistry with the Dolphins quarterback, but if the Dolphins feel comfortable taking a wideout as early as third overall in a fairly deep wideout class is another story.
