Pick 18 – Najee Harris, RB Alabama

Najee Harris would be a great pairing with Myles Gaskin and would be an incredible compliment to an offense that struggled to get off the ground at various points last season.

Harris is a monster of a back who can take a lot of pressure off of Tua Tagovailoa and put some legitimate threat into the play-action passing game. If Miami went with Harris, they would be getting legitimate between the tackles runner who can also bounce things to the outside with his good speed. He is a great receiver out of the backfield as well and his athleticism is off of the charts, evident from his Olympic level hurdling abilities.

Harris should be a no brainer for the Dolphins. While they have some decent backs on the roster in Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed, both of which played above expectations last season, Harris is a game-changing back who could act as a catalyst for this offense.

Miami may choose to gamble, however, and try and hold off until the second round to take a running back. They could take another receiver here to pair with DeVonta Smith, who they took earlier, depending on how the board falls. I think that would be a mistake, however, as somebody of Harris’ quality can be an instant impact for this team.
