A Miami Dolphins mock draft featuring all SEC players
By Pablo Rosero
The top tight end in the Draft falls to the Dolphins at pick 18
The Florida tight end will not be around this long in the real NFL draft, barring a Laremy Tunsil type situation or even an unexpected fall similar to CeeDee Lamb. But, since Pitts fell this far in the draft, there is no chance I am passing on him.
Pitts was the absolute best tight end in the entire country and one of the best offensive players as well. He is an elite pass catcher and should come in as a better than usual blocker as well.
Pitts is closer to a Travis Kelce tight end than a George Kittle tight end when it comes to play style, but when you have a player that is a mismatch for anyone who is supposed to cover him you take it.
Similar to taking Smith in the first, the Dolphins need to surround Tagovailoa with playmakers and Pitts does exactly that. A duo of Gesicki and Pitts would help give the DOlphins one of the best tight end duos in the entire league, but they would both need to improve their blocking drastically.
I do not believe that Pitts will fall this low in the first round, but if he does, Miami cannot allow him to fall any lower.
