Pittsburgh trades up with Miami to take their future starting quarterback

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. KyleTrask. 18. QB. Florida. player. 55

Another trade sees the Dolphins move back once again for another team to move up and take a quarterback. This time around it is the Pittsburgh Steelers attempting to find the replacement for Ben Rothlisberger.

This past week, the Steelers general manager was seemingly uncommitted to Rothlisberger as their starting quarterback. He will more than likely be back in 2021, but what about after that?

Personally, I am not the biggest fan of Trask, but he did enough in 2020 to earn the right to be considered a late first rounder or early second rounder. When five quarterbacks are gone within the first 12 picks, trading up for a guy you plan on sitting for a year or two could work in your favor. Getting a fifth year on Trask also is a major benefit for them, especially if he pans out for a team with high aspirations.

With a team like Chicago still in need of a quarterback trading up and passing them could make a ton of sense.

For Miami, this deal would move them to 24 and net them an additional pick in this draft and possible one in the 2022 draft as well. Who would say no to adding more talent?
