Edge. . University of Miami. GregoryRousseau. player. 59. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Dolphins need to address the running back position but for the purpose of this mock, I am using the opinion that the Dolphins are going to sign Aaron Jones in free agency. If they do, then running back Najee Harris won’t be drafted by the Dolphins and they won’t address the position in round two either. Now you have a little preview of what is to come.

Rousseau is a very solid talent and can get off the ball quickly. He has good vision but is quick to make a decision after the snap. He can hold the edge down well and containment is important to filter the offense back inside where linebackers can help.

With the Dolphins now moving on from Kyle Van Noy, the edge becomes more important. Kwity Payne is also in play here as is Zaven Collins. I considered Collins but of the three simulators I used, Collins fell into round two and I don’t think that will be the case. In all three, Rousseau was on the board and was taken within a few picks of 18.

This is a good spot for the Hurricane product and should keep “U” fans happy. Rousseau would be the 16th player drafted out of the school in Dolphins history.
