Dream Trade Idea: Miami trades Pick 3 to the Carolina Panthers for Pick 8 and running back Christian McCaffrey.

The first three trades are traded that I could actually see happening. These next two trades are trades that could obviously happen but are extremely unlikely and are just dream scenarios.

This one is wild and one that would change the Miami Dolphins.

I’m sure the Carolina Panthers love their star running back Christian McCaffrey. I’m also sure they don’t love his contract they gave him and seeing Mike Davis produce just as well as McCaffrey, as he was out most of the year with an injury. That was obviously a tough pill to swallow this year and something I’m sure the Panthers will look into fixing. Paying a running back that much money rarely works, it can, but you need the right situation. Carolina isn’t in that right situation. They are in the market for a franchise QB, and I saw some wild scenarios where the Panthers trade for Deshaun Watson and give up McCaffrey. That got me thinking, wouldn’t it be smart for Miami to try and get him then?

Miami has Tagovailoa on his rookie deal, so it would make it a lot easier to stomach his massive contract. And honestly, the way the Dolphins are built, the contract wouldn’t even be a thought because this would be such a fantastic move for them.

Miami would add an elite running back to pair with Tagovailoa and whatever weapon they would draft at Pick 8. Moving back to pick No. 8 would sting a little, but adding a guy that can run for 1,000 yards and catch for a 1,000 yards would be worth it.
