Panthers trade up a few spots with the Miami Dolphins to select their future quarterback

87. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. QB. BYU. ZachWilson. 3

With the Jets taking Sewell with the second overall pick, the Miami Dolphins should have a hectic war room when the third overall pick is on the clock. The Panthers could give them the best offer for this pick with their desperate want to improve at quarterback.

Zach Wilson is the player that benefited the most from the past college football season due to his tremendous play. Wilson is now being viewed by many as the second-best quarterback in this draft and has shown similar abilities as Patrick Mahomes had at Texas Tech.

Truthfully, I believe he would benefit from sitting a year behind a bridge quarterback, and thankfully the Panthers have just that.

Teddy Bridgewater may not be happy with the Panthers trading up and drafting a quarterback this early, but if he can show his value another season with the team he could land himself on a different team in 2022 with a starting job.

The Panthers may not get Deshaun Watson like they so desperately want, but Wilson could end up being a very good developmental pick and could be worth the double firsts and double seconds. With a solid core in place and the defense trending upwards, the future could be bright.
