The Dolphins have moved from pick three to 12 to six in the 2021 NFL Draft in a matter of hours due to deals with the 49ers and Eagles.

The Miami Dolphins were expected to take calls for the third overall pick in this year’s draft, but the team pulled a rabbit out of their hats when dealing the pick to the 2019 NFC champion San Francisco 49ers. The deal is the third overall pick, via the Houston Texans, in exchange for the 49ers’ 12th overall pick, a compensatory third rounder gained from Robert Salah’s departure, and a 2022 and 2023 first round pick.

The Dolphins then dealt the 12th overall pick, the 123rd pick, and a 2022 first-rounder to the Philadelphia Eagles for the sixth overall and the 156th overall pick. This movement could show hope that the Dolphins can land the top offensive player in the draft.

With that, here is an updated seven-round mock draft with the Dolphins owning the sixth overall pick.

With all the movement the Dolphins should target a wideout in the draft and Chase fits the billing for the top wideout in the draft. Even with Chase opting out of the 2020 NCAA football season, he would fit perfectly into what the Dolphins have.

By adding Willer Fuller and having Devante Parker, adding Chase in the slot, or even moving him around will give Tua Tagovailoa a multitude of high-end weapons across the board.

The team will then need to add a running back and quite possibly a right tackle, but adding Chase will be an impressive first step towards a solid draft class.
