The Miami Dolphins have held the third overall pick in next month’s draft since the season ended, now, it belongs to the 49’ers thanks to Chris Grier.

According to reports, the Dolphins are trading the third overall pick to San Francisco for the 12th overall pick this year, a third-round pick this year, a first-round pick in 2022, and a first-round pick in 2023. Yes, you read that right.

The Dolphins are still in a position to draft a top talent in the draft. With the 49’ers moving up, we can only assume it is for a quarterback. That would drop another player down as the Dolphins were not in the market for a QB. The question is who will be the target now?

There has been speculation that cornerbacks could be climbing up the draft boards for many teams and some believe that there could be two or three going in the top 10. If that does indeed happen, it is possible that one of the top three receivers could also fall to 12.

With the 49’ers possibly transitioning to another quarterback, it becomes interesting to see what they will do with Jimmy Garoppolo. Could he be traded back to the Patriots? That is a strong possibility as Bill Belichick reportedly was very high on him and was forced to move on from him by Bob Kraft and Tom Brady.

As the NFL draft approaches, there is a strong possibility that Miami will make more moves in the coming weeks. Chris Grier loves working the phones.
