Pick 18, LB Micah Parsons, Penn State

The fact that Micah Parsons was on the board at 18 is a little bit insane and, if we’re being honest, somewhat unlikely once the real draft kicks off.

Since he was there, however, I had to make the selection and take the talented linebacker out of Penn State. His stock may have dipped a bit in the last few weeks, as he was once considered a top ten lock, but any team should still be thrilled if they get lucky enough to take the talented linebacker.

Miami brought in Bernardrick McKinney from Houston in the offseason and resigned Elandon Roberts to sure up the position, but there is no guarantee that McKinney reverts to his Pro Bowl form and Elandon Roberts isn’t a long term solution.

In steps Parsons, who would probably start over both of these players and could become an impact player for this defense. Parsons is not a finished product by any means and needs to work on finishing tackles to be effective at the next level. He has the athleticism and talent necessary to be successful, though, and I can see him becoming a Brian Flores favorite pretty quickly.
