Pick 50, RB Javonte Williams, North Carolina

This is becoming one of the more common picks to the Dolphins in the second round.

There is no denying that Miami needs a running back going into the new season to compliment Myles Gaskin, who is not a definite answer at the position. There has been considerable talk all offseason that Miami may target one of the top backs in Najee Harris or Travis Etienne late in the first round. Miami might be better suited to wait, however, as talented running backs are going to be available later in the draft.

JaVonte Williams has experience shining in a two-back system and could become an instant threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Miami would be hard-pressed to find another player of Williams’ talent later in the draft and should be thrilled to take the talented back in the second round.

Williams could be a perfect complement to what Miami has on the roster. Gaskin is a shifty player and Williams can be a bruiser that will help keep things interesting in the Dolphins’ backfield.

Williams can easily become a go-to back and can help giveTagovailoa some much-needed help out of the backfield.
