49ers take Mac Jones after trading up with the Miami Dolphins

QB. 3. player. Pick Analysis. Alabama. MacJones. 42. Scouting Report

The most shocking pick in the first round comes in the form of Mac Jones to the 49ers with the third overall pick. After trading three years’ worth of first-rounders and a third to move from 12 to three, the Niners take the former Alabama quarterback.

Personally, I believe that all the rumors of the team taking Jones are smokescreens and the team will take one of Fields or Lance, but if it’s not it would change the top ten drastically. Jones would be expected to be the man in San Fran as the team hopes they can remain healthy enough for another Super Bowl run.

Pick Analysis. Florida. KylePitts. 44. Scouting Report. TE. 4. player

Kyle Pitts is arguably the second-best prospect in the 2021 NFL draft and selecting him at four or later would be a steal for any team. Pitts is big (6-foot-5, 245 pounds), fast ( 4.44s 40-yard dash), and long ( 83 ⅜ inch wingspan and 34-inch arms). He blocks, catches the ball well, and runs wideout-level routes while destroying any defender lined up across from him. If a team doesn’t move up to take a quarterback at four, or if Atlanta feels Matt Ryan has five or more years left in him, Pitts would be the optimal draft choice for the Falcons.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LSU. player. 56. WR. Ja'MarrChase. 5

This pick will, and should, come down between Penei Sewell or Ja’Marr Chase. In a deep offensive tackle class, the Bengals could opt to listen to their franchise quarterback in Joe Burrow and take Chase, his former LSU teammate. This could lead the team to try to either trade back into the first round or attempt to move up in the second round and attempt to land Alex Leatherwood or Jalen Mayfield.
