Social media can bring people together and tear them all apart but the Miami Dolphins social media community is a family no matter what. Today, our family lost one of our own.

Brian Byrne may not be a name you recognize immediately but if you are on Twitter, you know him from his “Dad Joke of the Day” videos. You may also have listened to him co-host a Miami Dolphins podcast on the Fin Addicts Network. Today, our community mourns his unexpected passing.

There are no words at times like this. We don’t know how he passed but do know that he was posting only a few days ago and needed to have surgery on his arm after a biceps injury. He leaves behind his wife and young daughter.

His co-host and fellow Miami Dolphins fan known on Twitter as Sevach let everyone know about the sad news today. He has also set up a Go-Fund me account in order to help out Brian’s family. You can head here to make a contribution.

Like many on social media, we never truly get to know each other on personal levels and while at times we get to dip into the family pools of our social media friends, it’s rare that we get to know each other deeply. Brian invited his followers into his life and home and introduced his followers to his family with more than just words on a Twitter post. His videos were fun and entertaining in the tongue and cheek way he intended.

Brian will be missed terribly by all of us and we here at PhinPhanatic express our sincere condolences to his family and close friends. It was a pleasure to follow him along his journey.
