Will Miami the Miami Dolphins trade this pick as well or will they use it and move forward? That’s a big question and a lot will depend on who is still on the board.

The Dolphins have to know that they no longer need the edge help that they did before Parsons was taken at 18. Kwity Paye and Jaelen Phillips are excellent prospects and Miami could move a few more spots back to draft one of them but this time they need to make a selection.

With the 20th pick the Dolphins draft Minnesota receiver Rashod Bateman. Bateman is a fast 4.39 40-yard runner that gives Miami a deep threat with very good hands. He isn’t the flashy Waddle or Smith but he is a solid threat that will help Tua Tagovailao in the offense.

Miami could have gone with Najee Harris here and fans will be upset if this ever played out like this and the Dolphins passed on him but Bateman is a rising prospect with a lot of talent and upside and the drop-off in receivers after him is considerable. The drop-off from Harris, not so much.

The Dolphins will not draft again until round two opting to keep the draft picks they have accumulated rather than use them to get back into round one.
