The Miami Dolphins trade pick 81 and a 2022 3rd round pick to the Atlanta Falcons for pick 68.

After taking an edge defender at pick 40, I know some of you sighed and were not happy Miami did not get a center. Trust me, I feel your pain, and I think it is their biggest hole on the roster. Could they potentially go for a player like Creed Humphrey or Landon Dickerson at 40? Without a doubt. However, Miami likes to take chances, and I think they will see how late they can wait to address the position.

They signed Matt Skura to a one-year deal, and I think he will likely start in 2021 no matter who they draft. I would say Humphrey is the only player that will be ready on Day 1 for the team that drafts him, but I think Miami would prefer the veteran starting next season.

That is why Miami trades up here and secures the perfect fit at center, former Wisconsin-Whitewater offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz.

This kid is a DUDE. He is incredible, and he has one of the most fascinating stories of the draft. He is a DIII guy that got a chance to play in the Senior Bowl, and wow. He made the most of his opportunity and then some. Miami coached him in the Senior Bowl, too, so they have first-hand knowledge of the type of person and player he is.

I think Miami wants him real bad, and they will trade up into the third round to get him if he makes it that far. I think pick 68 would be a perfect spot for Meinerz, and Miami would potentially be getting the steal of the draft.
