The Miami Dolphins have to know who they plan on taking at pick six but a trade down may no longer be likely to pick number 9.

According to multiple reports, another shake up in the draft may be the reason the Dolphins do not trade out of the 6th overall spot. With only a day to go, the Carolina Panthers have traded QB Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos. He will compete with Drew Lock.

The trade gives the Broncos some flexibility. They can wait it out at nine and see if a QB falls to them or they draft another quarterback on day two and let Lock and Bridgewater battle out in camp. The trade gives the Panthers an additional 6th round pick but it likely takes the Broncos out of the trade-up market.

Another draft note that has Dolphins implications is that two ESPN reporters are saying that the Falcons are no longer interested in trading out of four and have decided that they will stay at four and draft Kyle Pitts. That won’t make some Dolphins fans happy but it could also be a ploy to get a team like the Dolphins to offer a trade to move up whether they say they will or not.

The Dolphins on the other hand seem to be content picking at six and will have their choice of both Alabama receivers, Ja’Marr Chase, or Penei Sewell should they desire. It’s not clear if the Dolphins will find a trade partner if they opt to move down.

While the Denver deal does somewhat take them out of play for a QB early, they could still drop out of the top 10 and some have speculated that Miami could look to move up from 18.

With the draft now just over 24 hours away, there is a lot going on as teams try to jockey around for position so this may not be the only moves and rumors we see in the next 24 hours.
