The Miami Dolphins did a good job filling their roster needs
By Nick Belotto
As I watched the second round unfold, there were a few defensive options that were available when Miami picked at 36 that I really liked. There were a lot of big names still on the board and I felt pretty confident Miami would take one of them. So, the selection of Holland left me a bit thrown off. That is until I took a deep breath and did my research.
After diving a bit deeper into Holland’s play, I immediately loved this pick.
Holland is a versatile, chess-piece type of player that seems like he would fit perfectly in Brian Flores’ defensive system. He has great ball-hawking skills and isn’t someone who misses tackles. He is one of those guys that just looks the part of an elite NFL safety.
The selection of Holland looks like it might be the end of Bobby McCain’s tenure as a starter in Miami. As much as I’ve loved McCain’s leadership, Holland’s playmaking ability and his nose for the football are an immediate upgrade over McCain’s skill set.
There is a ton of potential in this pick and Holland is going to play a lot of snaps this coming season.
