I’ve already spent a lot of time going over the last few picks and talking about how much I really loved Miami’s selections. So, this is going to be the same, really.

Eichenberg is a tackle who is ready to start right away and the Dolphins were able to get him in the second round. Nobody should question the value of this pick, even if it meant giving up a third-round pick next year. There were a few concerns from scouts around the league, but Eichenberg put together an incredible career at Notre Dame, and a lot of those concerns, to me, seem a bit nit-picky.

Eichenberg may have to compete to earn his spot as a starter on the right side of the line, but I see no reason why he can’t beat out Jesse Davis or D.J. Fluker for that role. He has the talent and pedigree to make an impact at the line of scrimmage and protect Tagovailoa’s blindside.

This selection almost finalizes a two-year offensive line rebuild. Now, Miami has young, quality talent at 4 of the 5 line spots, with Matt Skura being the only weak link. The potential of this offensive line is extremely high and Tagovailoa is going to have significantly more time reading the field than he did last year.
