Miami Dolphins post draft positional power rankings

Miami got better on the edge, at least they will have if Jaelen Phillips can keep out of the concussion protocol and avoid injuries. Phillips was considered the best edge rusher in the entire draft and some believe Miami got a steal with him at 18.
Phillips will pair well with Emmanuel Ogbah giving the team options with their linebackers to disguise their blitzing and coverage.
Miami is hoping that Jason Strowbridge, a draft pick from last year’s class will make a jump in 2021. He spent most of his time last year on special teams but he needs to get better at the point of attack and develop his edge skills. Miami only has five DEs listed on the roster but they use a hybrid system that will see linebackers move up as well.
On the line itself, Raekwon Davis was a great surprise last year and he and Christian Wilkins made the defensive front work. Zach Sieler had a very good year as well and the three will rotate again this year. Miami also has nine-year veteran John Jenkins to add more quality depth to the defensive front and five-year veteran Adam Butler.
Miami’s defensive line should improve this year but whether they are exceptionally dominant will depend on Phillip’s ability off the edge and how well the scheme works with the linebacker group.
