Miami has a solid opportunity to go on a 4 game winning streak at this point in the season, which would be huge for getting the team back into the playoffs.

Carolina could be a challenging matchup if Miami struggles to contain stud running back Christian McCaffrey. They may, however, catch a break going up against Carolina’s quarterback given that they have seen a lot of him over the last few seasons.

Sam Darnold has struggled against the Dolphins in his brief career. Is there a chance that his struggles were all because of Adam Gase and his incredible coaching acumen? It’s hard to say without seeing Darnold play in Matt Rhule’s offense. There is no doubt that Darnold will improve a little bit given his change of scenery, but it’s hard to say that he will become worthy of his early-round draft status in just a year.

The ceiling is still somewhat high for Darnold, but it may take some time for him to get into a rhythm in a new offense.

Given what we know, I can’t see Darnold coming into Miami and getting a win, although I think this will be closer than people may expect.

Dolphins record: 8-4
