The second matchup against the Jets should go the same way as the first matchup if the Dolphins take care of their business.

Based on the projections I have made so far, Miami is a prime position to push for the playoffs at this point in the year. They were in a similar spot towards the back end of last season, but they let a few games slip away, hurting their chances of making the post-season tournament.

The Dolphins need to make sure that they don’t stumble against the Jets in this one.

There have been times over the last few seasons that the Dolphins have played down to certain opponents, similarly to what Miami did against the Denver Broncos last year. The Jets might be playing better at this point in the year than they did in the earlier matchup and playing a division opponent is never an easy task for any team. Miami needs to be careful and play to their potential in this one.

Miami has a great recent record against the Jets at home and I can’t see any way that this changes this year. This matchup should be closer than the earlier one, but I can’t see a way that this young Jets offense outplays Miami’s defense.

Dolphins record: 9-5
