This is a big early-season matchup for Miami to see how far they have come. The Buffalo Bills are the reigning AFC East champs and, to many, a solid choice to represent the conference in the Super Bowl this season, assuming they can get past the juggernaut in Kansas City.

Over the last two off-seasons, Miami has positioned themselves to make a run at that title to compete for the division crown. That run starts with going through the Bills. And, after last season’s finale matchup that we all want to forget, Miami will be looking to make an early statement game against an opponent that has typically had its way against the Dolphins defenses these last few seasons.

Tua Tagovailoa could use this game to show the Bills that last year’s season-ending blowout loss was just a fluke and that Josh Allen doesn’t have complete control of this division just yet.

Allen does, however, have a very solid track record against Miami. Allen has a 5-1 record against the Dolphins, (courtesy of twinspires.com) and this year the Dolphins will need to end that streak in order to stay competitive in the division.

This game is going to be close, but I think Miami can finally end some of their woes against Buffalo from the past few seasons in this home matchup.

Dolphins record: 2-0
