The Miami Dolphins have announced via their social media group that they have signed their first two rookies and a few more undrafted prospects.

Miami drafted seven rookies last April, two in round one, two in round two, one in round three. Then they took the afternoon off trading away their 5th round pick and waiting until round seven when they grabbed their final two players.

Today, the Dolphins inked the final two players. Larnel Coleman and Gerrid Doaks are now officially Miami Dolphins players. Both have expectations of making the roster and Doaks may find his path to the final 53 a little easier than Coleman who comes into a deeper offensive line unit with quite a few prospects and three returning sophomore’s from last year’s draft class.

In addition, the Dolphins announced that Jaytlin (what is with Miami and the J’s this year?) Askew a cornerback from Georgia Tech and defensive tackle Jerome Johnson from Indiana. Robert Jones and Carl Tucker were announced before.

The Dolphins will have big decisions to make on the offensive line where they have quality depth and still have some solid prospects that could make the roster. Miami is hoping that this year’s line will take a huge step forward after a subpar season last year that saw three rookies start and no off-season workouts or pre-season games.

Miami still needs to sign the other five draft picks. Hunter Long, the tight end taken in round three, both second-round picks, Jevon Holland and Liam Eichenberg, and of course, both first-round picks, Jaylen Waddle and Jaelan Phillips.

The Dolphins currently have enough cap space to sign their rookie class but will not have much to work with afterwards indicating that restructures or cuts will be made during or before training camp.
