Miami Dolphins: 7 rookie class predictions for the 2021 season
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins wasted no time getting their pick submitted at the top of round two taking Jevon Holland of Oregon.
Holland is going to give the Dolphins everything they had hoped they would get with Minkah Fitzpatrick without the attitude and whiny ego. Holland has the tools and physical presence to play close to the line, play as a nickel or dime corner, and of course, can play safety.
The future of the Dolphins’ deep secondary is going to consist of Brandon Jones who was drafted last year and Holland as Miami transitions from Eric Rowe. They already let Bobby McCain leave. McCain signed a deal with the Washington Football Team.
Holland won’t get many post-season considerations because his on-field play this year will be situational unless for some reason he beats out Rowe for the starting safety job. That is a bit much to predict without seeing him on the field with pads.
Prediction: Holland is the future for Miami’s safety situation but not this year. We will see him in a variety of roles that will showcase his talent level and I believe he will have a positive impact on the Dolphins roster throughout the year but more so in the final month where I see him making the necessary plays to get Miami into the playoffs.
