Miami Dolphins Mike Gesicki gives strong statement on Tua Tagovailoa
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins are working out this week and Mike Gesicki talked to the media after practice. He had pretty strong words for Tua Tagovailoa.
If anyone, well the media surely does, doubts Tua Tagovailoa and what he means to this team, you may not want to go toe to toe with Mike Gesicki about it. He was asked today about his QB and responded rather bluntly.
I love the “uneducated” part because it truly is astonishing how quickly members of the mainstream media want to tear Tagovailoa down. A kid who has scratched and clawed his way through adversity and recovery and has kept a smile on his face, yet they just want to remind you how much of a bust he is going to be.
Gesicki also said that “Tua has gotten used to hearing, stupid, uneducated stuff about him.” This is good news because Tua has fought his detractors all his life. Everyone that says he can’t he goes out and proves wrong. His character is through the roof but his work ethic and drive even higher.
There is no way to know if Tua will ever become an elite NFL quarterback or not but he won’t fail by not trying and by the sounds of it, he has the full support of his teammates.
Tua talked to the media as well and said his hip is “10 times better” than what it was last year. Local media are seeing more of a leader emerge in the young quarterback as well and that can’t be discounted. It took a few years for Ryan Tannehill to start showing leadership traits and even then, some could easily argue he never fully reached the level he needed to in Miami.
