What should the Miami Dolphins do if Tua Tagovailoa stinks in 2021?

Miami drafts a quarterback in 2022 NFL Draft and moves on from Tua Tagovailoa.

Miami fans will feel sick if their Dolphins stink in 2021, and it’s because of Tagovailoa. Miami traded their own 2022 1st round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles to move up from pick 12 to pick 6 in the 2021 NFL Draft.

I think this scenario is easy to say but a lot harder to do. If Miami does bad, but the San Francisco 49ers do good, it will be frustrating for the Dolphins. Miami has the 49ers 2022 1st round pick after trading back from pick 3 to pick 12 in the 2021 NFL Draft. They also have the 49ers 2023 1st rounder.

Miami could obviously send a godfather-type offer to move up for a top QB, but I think this would be a panic move by Miami and the wrong one. There is no guarantee that the guy they trade up for would be better than Tagovailoa, so that is a risk I do not see general manager Chris Grier taking.

I think the more likely scenario here would be for Miami to sign a veteran quarterback and roll the dice in 2022. If it doesn’t work again, then use their two first-round picks in 2023 to try and find their next guy.

Out of all of the scenarios, drafting a quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft scares me the most and would be the most unlikely scenario I would do.
