What should the Miami Dolphins do if Tua Tagovailoa stinks in 2021?
By Jeremy Klump
Miami trades for an elite quarterback and either keeps Tua Tagovailoa as a backup or trades him away.
Out of the top three answers, this one was probably my favorite. However, I will say I’m just going to address Deshaun Watson quickly. He is currently under investigation for sexual assault, so Miami clearly isn’t trading for him. I hate having to talk about the idea of adding Watson because of what is going on, but we need to mention it.
It’s worth noting that Watson is innocent until proven guilty, and if he isn’t proven guilty, Miami will be in a bidding war with the Philadelphia Eagles for him. However, Miami has three first-round picks the next two years to trade, so they could easily create a deal to get Watson, pending his investigation.
It felt like before Watson was under investigation, Miami may have been trying to trade for him, so it will be worth monitoring if this all happens.
Then there are the Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson trade ideas. I personally would want Rodgers over Wilson because I think Rodgers is far better than Wilson. However, Wilson is still an elite quarterback, and it would make sense Miami would try to get him.
If Tagovailoa isn’t the answer after Year 2, Miami may think adding an older, proven veteran is the way to go. While they may not play for 10+ years, you could get 3-4 years of elite, dominant play from your quarterback.
