Matt Skura will take the reigns this year as the Miami Dolphins line manager but there is too much inconsistency at center and the Dolphins need to do better.

The Dolphins have a problem at center and have since Mike Pouncey was let go in 2018. They have started Daniel Kilgore and Ted Karras since then with Kilgore starting in 2018 and 2019 and Karras last year handling the job.

Miami wanted to bring Karras back this year but flirted with another Patriots center for too long and Karras got tired of waiting. He went back to the Patriots and David Andrews. Miami was left with what was still on the market and that was Matt Skura.

Skura had a good career in Baltimore but last year was atrocious and his handling of the snaps was a big problem for him. If he doesn’t correct it this year, the Dolphins could be in trouble.

Behind Skura is Michael Dieter and while Dieter doesn’t have much in-game experience, he is the best Miami has right now. The Dolphins need him to develop and maybe they seem a year away from taking over the job. If that is the case, then the Dolphins will be in a good position for the future but if not, they have to make a decision and either sign a top free agent or draft a top prospect. They passed on two top prospects in April’s draft.
