Do the Miami Dolphins have the best WR group in the AFC East?

The Miami Dolphins finished last season with glaring needs at certain positions. The offensive line was a work in progress, and the defense needed a legit pass rush threat coming off of the edge. But no need was more pressing than adding weapons to the arsenal on offense.

And the Dolphins did just that. During the draft and through free agency, Miami was able to add veteran big play threats to stretch the field as well as young, highly-touted collegiate prospects. The front office and coaching staff has showed their commitment to second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa by surrounding him with the tools that he will need to succeed, and the Dolphins could reap the on-field benefits soon.

The Miami Dolphins bolstered their arsenal of receiving weapons this off-season. Where do they rank against other teams in the AFC East?

It wasn’t that last season’s pass-catching core was bad. Devante Parker had nearly 800 yards despite missing time and playing through ailments, and Mike Gesicki had a breakout season by catching 6 of the 24 touchdowns that Dolphins quarterbacks threw. But there were injuries up and down the depth chart. In a late season game against the Patriots, Tagovailoa’s top weapons were Lynn Bowden Jr, Durham Smythe, and Isaiah Ford. A rookie QB with no weapons going up against Bill Belichick should have been a death sentence, but Miami wound up being victorious.
