Do the Miami Dolphins have the best WR group in the AFC East?
#4. New York Jets
The Jets will likely struggle this coming season, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. They weren’t much to speak of last season either, and there is a new regime and rookie quarterback coming to New York in 2021.
We have yet to see what new head coach Robert Saleh can bring to the table, but there will be growing pains during the first season. Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson will be under pressure to perform well, especially if the Jets don’t sign a veteran to compete with him in training camp. The next two QBs listed on the roster are James Morgan and Mike White.
The group of wide receivers listed on New York’s roster won’t be of much help. The Jets did sign Corey Davis away from the Titans, who amassed nearly 1,000 yards last season in Tennessee, as well as Keelan Cole who caught five touchdowns for the Jaguars. But there isn’t much to speak of behind them, as the next three wideouts listed on New York’s depth chart are Jamison Crowder, Denzel Mims, and Vyncint Smith. They did add rookie Elijah Moore in the second round of the 2021 Draft, and there is a chance that he develops in to a solid pass catcher. But it will take some time, and the Jets will struggle this season as they figure out who their pass catching core will consist of.
