With the off-season in full swing and training camp not set for another month, it’s a perfect time to do a Miami Dolphins 2022 mock draft.

Our new pre-camp Miami Dolphins 2022 mock draft will come down to what the San Francisco 49ers do in the 2021 season. Many NFL predictions have the 49ers making the postseason in a very tough NFC West division. NFL Draft sites go as far as to predict that the Dolphins will draft in the 20th spot which will go to the Eagles. The 49ers are expected to draft in or around the 26th spot which is owned by the Dolphins.

Leading up to the 2021 draft, Chris Grier made a huge splash when he traded from 3rd overall to 12 and then back up to 6. The move back to six cost the Dolphins one of their two first-round picks in the 2022 draft. That has left many fans a little upset and now everyone will be watching to see what the 49ers do in 2021.

Miami owns the following draft picks in 2022 according to SI.

  • Round 1: From San Francisco, traded their own to Philadelphia
  • Round 2: Their own
  • Round 3: From San Francisco, traded theirs to NY Giants in Liam Eichenberg trade up
  • Round 4: Their own and the Steelers
  • Round 5: Their own
  • Round 6: Their own and a pick from the Patriots
  • Round 7: Tennessee Titans pick, they traded their own to the Rams

The Dolphins, for now, do not have a lot of needs across the roster but there are holes and upcoming players that will be looking at free agency and as such, the Dolphins need to plan ahead. We are going to work under the assumption that Xavien Howard does not get traded and the two sides work out an arrangement that keeps him in Miami. Here is a way too early look at what might happen in the first four rounds of the 2022 draft for the Miami Dolphins.
