While it’s nice to have solid starters across the roster, having a top-quality kicker can make the difference between winning and losing games. Miami definitely has one that can help put wins on the board.

Jason Sanders was the second Dolphin representative on the 2020 All-Pro list after a phenomenal season that saw him hit 90% of his field-goal tries, 97% of his extra-point tries, and have a 78.6% touchback percentage (all stats courtesy of pro-football-reference.com). At 25 years old and with these kinds of numbers, Sanders has already cemented himself as one of the best kickers in the NFL and should be in the running for both Pro-Bowl spots and All-Pro selections over the remainder of his career.

Sanders was rewarded for his great season with a sparkling brand new contract to the tune of 5 years, $22 million, which shows that Brian Flores and company have complete faith in their talented kicker.

Quality special teams play cannot be overlooked by any NFL team and the Dolphins should be able to consistently rely on their kicker who has proven time and again to be a reliable scorer for this team.

Sanders has been solid every single year in Miami and there is no reason to believe, barring injury, that he is going to take a step backward. He provides an extra facet for putting up points that could be the difference-maker as Miami looks to make the playoffs this season. He should easily be a leading candidate for the kicker All-Pro spot.
