Miami Dolphins rookie Jevon Holland is going to be an exciting player to watch for years to come but first he needs to get through his rookie season and that can be tough for young defensive backs.

Holland is absorbing as much of the defense as possible and has told the media that he is learning multiple roles for the team. That is a lot of information being thrown at him. While he has help in the form of Eric Rowe and Jason McCourty, he is also going to learn what the cornerbacks do as well.

Holland’s biggest issue this year will be finding how he fits into this defense. Eventually, Holland is likely to take over one of the safety spots and it will serve him well to know the nuances of the other positions in the secondary. He doesn’t have the front end speed to be a full-time corner back and can often find himself beat but at safety, he can be much more productive and if the Dolphins use him in a hybrid role in 2021, he may find himself in a good position but he needs to pick up the nuances of that job.

Holland is a smart kid and loves the game but he will need to stay focused and will probably be brought along slower given how much he needs to learn.
