Week 8: Sunday, Oct. 31st Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

The Miami Dolphins will of course face off against the Buffalo Bills twice during the upcoming season, but it will be the matchup on Halloween that should be the one that we circle. The teams will first match up in Week 2 for Miami’s home opener, which will be an early battle between the top two teams in the AFC East last season. While each game on the schedule is important, the meeting in Orchard Park on the last day of October will be the payback game for the Dolphins.

The last time that Tua Tagovailoa and company played in Buffalo was in Week 17 of last season, when the Dolphins simply needed a victory to secure a playoff spot. They instead completely imploded, putting on their worst performance of the season in an embarrassing 56-26 trouncing. Tagovailoa’s 62.5 passer rating was the worst number he put up all year, throwing 3 of his 5 interceptions on the season in the game. The Dolphins were defeated in all three phases, as the Bills scored touchdowns on both defense and special teams in addition to the six touchdowns that their offense put up.

So the revenge game that will take place on October 31st will be a big test for Brian Flores and his team. Not only will it be a game for payback, but it also marks the final game before a very important stretch of contests for Miami in November and early December. The Dolphins would obviously benefit greatly from any notch in the win column, but a victory over the reigning division champion in a revenge game could set them up nicely for that end of the season stretch.
