1. Noah Igbinoghene’s Experience/Progression

In today’s microwave NFL, fans want players to be elite in year 1. I am not sure when this dynamic really shifted to this, but it is everywhere.

Starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa deals with it all the time, and any draft pick that doesn’t perform up to fan’s standards in their first season.

For Igbinoghene, many fans wrote him off already because he wasn’t a shutdown cornerback in his rookie season. To me, that’s craziness, especially when you really look into Igbinoghene. He did not start playing cornerback until 2018, so he needs time to develop.

Counterpoint though, this guy was a first-round pick, but he was raw at the position. If you watched him play at Auburn, you understood that the talent was there; he just needed time to develop.

Well, luckily on in his rookie season, Igbinoghene was able to gain some experience. It may not have been a full season, but Igbinoghene started two games and played in others.

Fans may not think those games meant much, but Igbinoghene’s experience from those games will help a lot as he progresses and gets ready for year 2.

Yes, he struggled, but he took his lumps in his rookie season, which should help him understand what he needed to work on this offseason.

The offseason last year wasn’t a thing, so now Igbinoghene will also have the experience of a real NFL offseason, which should do wonders for his game and allow him to progress the right way.

I believe that with the full offseason to progress and added with the experience from his rookie season, Igbinoghene will make the biggest jump from any of the Dolphins 2020 draft picks!
