3. Noah Igbinoghene’s Ability

Do not listen to any Igbinoghene haters on Twitter that say he stinks after his rookie season. They do not know what they are talking about because Igbinoghene does not stink.

And personally, I think Igbinoghene has elite ability at the position and is going to be an outstanding starting cornerback in the NFL.

He fits head coach Brian Flores’ scheme perfectly, hence why they drafted him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

In today’s NFL, if you have a cornerback that excels in press-man and can lock down opposing wide receivers, you are already one step closer to winning. I think that is what Igbinoghene brings to the field.

Again, going back to the word “raw.” Igbinoghene is raw, but a coach like Flores and the scheme he runs should allow Igbinoghene to keep growing and reach his full potential.

A big thing when scouting a player and projecting how he will do in the NFL is traits. And Igbinoghene has elite traits at the position. He is strong and fast, which are both important right of the gate, but his man coverage skills got him drafted in the first round.

At Auburn, Igbinoghene was sticky in man coverage and would bully receivers. You can see on film that he is a great athlete and then he tested well too. You can also see he has a competitive nature to him that you want. He considers every snap as a challenge, and he’s going to try and win every rep against you.

Igbinoghene was one of the best cornerbacks in college football, and if you don’t want to take my word for it, 2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVanta Smith said Igbinoghene was the best cornerback he went against (via Saturday Down South).

I think fans need to breathe easy and relax on Igbinoghene because he has all the talent and ability in the world. It may not have happened yet, but Igbinoghene is about to show Dolphins fans he was worth the first-round pick, and then some!
