Fantasy football is here and these Miami Dolphins are worth a pick
By Brian Miller
Mike Gesicki
- ESPN Rank – Gesicki is ranked 108 overall by ESPN and that is actually really good for him. He played very well last year and should be even better in 2021.
- Risks – There are no immediate concerns about his health. He missed time in 2020 due to a shoulder injury but there are no limitations or concerns of that in 2021.
- Draftable – Gesicki isn’t going to be a top TE in fantasy football drafts but he could be a big steal in the mid-rounds. If I see Gesicki still on the board in rounds six or seven and my roster looks filled, I won’t pass him up.
- Weekly starter – Gesicki should be, for the first time, a legit weekly starter as a TE and an even better option as at TE/Flex.
- Predicted points – 141 points are predicted for Gesicki by ESPN but I think that is a little low.
- Round prediction – Mid-rounds should be the perfect spot for Gesicki. Somewhere between six and 11 depending on how the draft shapes up.
Drafting Gesicki could be a steal and many fantasy players tend to overlook him for bigger names and that causes him to slide because the focus tends to shift away from the position once you hit the mid-rounds and the top guys are off the board. Gesicki could have a career year in 2021 as he looks to get a new contract.
