Tua Tagovailoa

  • ESPN Rank – Tagovailoa’s ranking is much higher than I expected. He comes in at 145 on the ESPN rankings. That’s not too bad and it puts him ahead of Matt Ryan who is one spot lower.
  • Risks – Tagovailoa made it through last season and there is no reason to believe this year will be a problem.
  • Draftable – Hard to say. If you need him to be a week-to-week starter, you’re not winning year league or at the very least you are putting a lot of faith into him.
  • Weekly starter – Tua should probably be your 3rd QB and in most leagues, you don’t draft three. If he is available in your dynasty league then you should draft him otherwise, too many questions right now.
  • Predicted points – 311 points seems a tad low but probably pretty close unless he just balls out. Which could happen given his recovery status and his training camp play.
  • Round prediction – Tua will likely get drafted in many leagues but not until late.

Tagovailoa is a guy you want to draft and sit and wait to see what he will do once the season starts. You are drafting him because you are a Dolphins fan most likely. There is risk in drafting him but he could very well be a big surprise. I don’t tend to draft three QBs but Tagovailoa would be a great investment late when you are drafting backups and bench players that will likely play one week of the year.
