Jaylen Waddle was supposed to not be the Dolphins’ top pick. That was supposed to be Kyle Pitts or Penei Sewell or Ja’Marr Chase. Yet Waddle was at the top of the Dolphins board and many believe and have said that only Pitts would have potentially been taken before him.

Concerns over his ankle have permeated training camp notes from beat writers with some saying he is showing a limp while others have said that he does not. What is noticeable is his immediate connection with Tua Tagovailoa.

That should be a natural given their time together at Alabama but Waddle is making big plays around the field and showcasing his elite speed. He has touchdown grabs and tip-toe sideline catches as well but he really shows himself the best when running his routes.

If there are concerns about his ankle Waddle isn’t showing any signs that it is a problem. His cuts are immediate and decisive and he is making defenders miss. If this continues, and there is little reason to believe it should, Waddle is going to have an exceptional season.
