2. Myles Gaskin

Myles Gaskin has a chance to be not only one of the most valuable contracts on the team, but in the entire league as well.

Gaskin is currently the sixth lowest paid player on the Dolphins’ payroll, thanks to his late-round selection and the rookie scale contract that he received upon entering the league. His four-year deal is worth a total of $2.6 million, and he is owed just over $650k for 2021, by far the lowest of any of the 22 starters. Miami won’t have to worry about retaining Gaskin after the season, as he will be under contract for the 2022 season at a cool $965k.

Gaskin should be a regular contributor to the Dolphins’ offense, but he might perform well enough to be recognized around the league as well. He has a chance to become Miami’s first 1,000 yard rusher since Jay Ajayi, having putt up over 500 yards last year with limited snaps and a questionable-at-best-offensive line. He is a threat out of the backfield in the passing game as well. If he is able to stay healthy and stave off the rest of the guys in the Dolphins’ running back room, and if the offensive line shows improvement, then Gaskin has the potential to be one of the leading rushers in the league when all is said and done. If that is the case, then his contract will look like one of the best in the NFL.
