Mack Hollins is giving the Miami Dolphins coaching staff every reason to keep him around this year. He has had an outstanding training camp so far and today will give him more of an opportunity to make an impression.

The Dolphins like Hollins but the depth at the position is such that he is on the edge of making the roster but also not making it. It is simply a number game at this point but make no mistake, Hollins is doing everything he can and a couple of quality pre-season games should push him onto the roster.

The Dolphins receivers that will likely make the 53 consists of Albert Wilson, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVante Parker. We still don’t know what Jakeem Grant’s future is and it is likely as we said above that Williams starts the season on the PuP list. Will Fuller is suspended in week one and will not count on the roster to open the season. This all bodes well for Hollins.

He will still need to beat out Robert Foster and Kirk Merritt in camp and that competition is looking pretty good too. Today will give the coaches a chance to see what Hollins can do against another team’s defensive secondary, as it will be for the other receivers as well.
