New England Patriots RB Sony Michel

I am sure this is the running back most fans think of when they saw this article. Outside of the picture for the article highlighting New England Patriots running back Sony Michel, I have been tweeting about this idea for a while now.

For starters, head coach Brian Flores loves to sign former New England Patriots; for better or worse, it is just what he does. Fans need to get used to that, and anytime a Patriots player is cut or a free agent, look for Miami to be in the mix.

That’s exactly what would happen here if Michel doesn’t make the team. The former first-round pick has had glimpses of greatness in New England, but more times than not, he has shown why you should never take a running back in the first round.

Michel has never been an elite running back, but he is a great first and second down option in a running back by committee. The Patriots have a loaded backfield already, and after 2021 4th round pick Rhamondre Stevenson dominated the first preseason game, New England may be ready to move on from Michel.

There is no doubt in my mind that if Michel is cut, there is an extremely high chance Miami will sign him. If there were a bet on where Michel would sign after he is cut from New England, I would bet everything on Michel being signed by the Miami Dolphins.
