Win Total: 9

Historically, betting the over on the Miami Dolphins’ win total is a good idea. In four of the last five seasons, they have eclipsed their Vegas’ prediction for victories, outplaying expectations and picking up unlikely wins along the way. They blew their number out of the water last season, as Miami was projected to finish the year with six victories. They instead entered double-digit win territory, putting head coach Brian Flores at +4.5 wins above Vegas’ expectations during his two-year Dolphins’ tenure. There is reason to believe that he can add to that impressive number this season.

Depending on which betting outlet you’re looking at, the Dolphins find themselves projected to finish with 9 victories, including WynnBet, with some books giving them the extra half-game to put them at 9.5. Either way, it would be a regression from last year’s unexpected 10 win total, which is interesting given the circumstances. By most accounts, Miami seems to be improved in most areas, and they addressed some of their biggest needs in the off-season. Plus, there is the benefit of an extra contest, with a 17th game being added by the league this year. Pending a season-changing injury (as all of these bets do),  the Dolphins should have no reason why they can’t surpass their projected win total.
