5 semi-surprising Miami Dolphins player cuts to get to 53
By Brian Miller
Malcolm Perry looked to have a clearer path to making the 53 man roster for the Miami Dolphins after Lynn Bowden, Jr. was put on IR. That wasn’t the case.
Perry is a versatile player who can play TE, WR, RB and even QB and if he clears waivers, and he likely will, he is a prime candidate for the practice squad. In fact, he should find himself signed pretty quickly as the Dolphins have shown an interest in developing him.
The multi-talented utility player has a lot of growth and potential ahead of him but he hasn’t really got a big jump on his career and has struggled with consistency when given the chance. On Sunday against the Bengals, Perry looked better but it was too late to save him.
Miami carried only three running backs but also kept five tight ends and Will Fuller will serve a one game suspension but it isn’t likely that Perry will be brought back to the 53 man roster to fill his spot for the first week of the season. Perry is likely going to stay on the PS, if he clears waivers tomorrow.
