Round 2: Jahan Dotson, WR, PSU

I am sure many people will say this is a homer pick from me, and that is okay. I have known Penn State’s wide receiver Jahan Dotson since he entered his freshman season of high school. Even as a freshman, you could see that Dotson was going to be a big-time player.

Dotson played at Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, which is the high school I went to too. Watching him get better each and every day was awesome, and he became one of the best players in the state of PA. Dotson originally committed to UCLA but later decided to take his talents to PSU and play for James Franklin.

Since enrolling at PSU, Dotson did what he has done since his freshman year of high school; he has improved. He has improved so much that Dotson was honored on pretty much every preseason award watch list a receiver could be on.

In PSU’s first game of the season, Dotson showed he had gotten even better. He is uncoverable, and his elite route running is the main reason for that. Against Wisconsin in Week 1, Dotson was open almost every single play. Had the quarterback play been better, Dotson should have easily had over 200 yards and four touchdowns.

He scored a high 49-yard touchdown where he showcased his 4.33 40-yard dash speed (via Nittany Lions Wire).

Miami will have many questions for their receivers after this season, so they will likely target another receiver early in the 2022 NFL Draft, and Dotson would be the perfect receiver to target if he can make it to the second round.
