5. Patrick Mahomes
The top 5 will always be fun to rank, mainly because I am sure some people will not like the top 5 almost every single week. You can’t please everyone, but Patrick Mahomes surely pleases Kansas City Chiefs fans every single week. He is incredible, and at times, he makes football look so easy. Yes, he has tons of weapons, but he is also a weapon. I will be shocked if he isn’t ranked top five the entire season!
4. Matthew Stafford
I almost put a future bet on Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to win NFL MVP, and then I thought, what if it wasn’t the Lions’ fault. What if Stafford was the issue? I got in my own head, and I am kicking myself in the butt for it. Stafford was incredible on Sunday Night Football and honestly looked like a new and better Stafford. He looked like he was having tons of fun, and he did that while delivering dimes all night.
3. Tom Brady
My daughter will be in college, and she will complain about how Tom Brady is still so good. My daughter just started Kindergarten. How? I mean, honestly, how is Brady still elite? Brady is unreal. He is the greatest of all time already, but now he is just rubbing it in. 1:24 on the clock is an entire quarter for Brady, and it was to kick off the 2021 NFL season. Brady led yet another game-winning drive, and dare I say he looks even better this year than last?
2. Kyler Murray
No. 1 and No. 2 were hard for me, but I went with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray as No. 2. Murray was a beast and has the makings of a real MVP-type player in the NFL. He may be small, but he plays big. He threw for four touchdowns and ran for another. He is on pace for a monster season.

1. Jameis Winston
He earned it. Yes, any other year does not play a role in this, but Winston has been slandered, attacked, and just made fun of for years. He finally gets back to being the starter in New Orleans, gets lasik eye surgery, and here he is. Ranked No. 1 after Week 1. Winston did not throw an interception in Week 1 and absolutely dominated the Green Bay Packers with five touchdown passes, the most in the NFL in Week 1.
